My focus revolves around client convenience so here is a collection of frequently asked questions that I feel might address some of your initial concerns. 

What do you focus on covering on weddings days?

4 Hour weddings- either Preparations of Bride & Ceremony or Ceremony & Reception. *Clients decision.

8+ Hour Weddings- Preparations of Bride (or both when 2 photographers are booked)Ceremony & Reception.

On my Wedding day, how many do photos do you deliver and how do you deliver them?  

My delivery usually consists of 80 images per hour. I eliminate duplicates, calibrations, and images with unflattering expressions. As I anticipate moments to photograph, spontaneity is key. This requires quick thinking; the scene changes in a heartbeat. One time you’re smiling beautifully and the next half-second, not as pretty. Don't worry, you won't see those. :) 

Images are delivered via email & downloadable via your Personal Online Gallery, a link for which will be in your email. Images are typically completed within 4-6 weeks after your wedding date.

Are Albums and prints available? 

Albums and prints are available. Prints are available via your online gallery. Albums are to be discussed before your session. Confirmation and payment for your album is due no less than 15 days after your session. 

When are the albums delivered and how many photos can I select?

Albums are created & delivered within 30 days after you select from thecomplete gallery delivered to you within 1 months 60 photos can be selected for every album.

Do you travel for Weddings/Engagements and how does it work?

A simple two-parter: airfare plus per diem.

I love travel and would be honored to capture your day in your destination location! 

Airfare is $300 for the first 300 miles from Vienna, VA, then $0.20 per mile. You'll calculate distance as the crow flies using this distance calculator.

Per Diem (meals, lodging, etc.) is an all-inclusive $200 per night in the US Lower 48. $250 everywhere else. Every wedding requires at least a two-night stay (the night before and the night of).

Example: A wedding in Chicago costs $756.80 for travel. It's 584 miles away, resulting in an all-inclusive travel fee of $356.80 for airfare plus $400 in total per diem.

This is a 99% guideline. Unique circumstances of your event may alter your fee slightly.

What are your meeting policies?

There is an hour travel limit & a $75 fee to travel for a face-to-face meeting outside of a 15 mile radius of Washington, D.C. Otherwise, my clients schedule a phone call or a video call.

OK, I think we're sold! How do we book Visuals by J. McKenzie?!

Booking is easy! Simply reach out. We will make some time to speak to each other, maybe even meet up for some coffee at your favorite shop (Starbucks??). Once you decide that I'm the right photographer for you here are the two, simple next steps to secure your booking:

  1. I'll send over Contract(s) to view & sign. Don't worry, it can be E-Signed. I'm all for saving tree's.
  2. You pay the deposit. Accepted forms of payment are Paypal, MasterCard/Visa, CashApp and Venmo.

You're all booked! We're in this together now. ^_^

How much is the deposit?

Industry Standard is 50% down to book. 

The remaining amount is due within 7 days prior to our session.

If you''re booked for a wedding the remaining amount is due within 30 days of your wedding date. 

Payment plans for both deposit and balance are also an option. If you would like a customized plan for your situation, please don't hesitate to mention it!

How do we pay?

Accepted forms of payment are Paypal, MasterCard/Visa, CashApp and Venmo. 

Fees & Tax questions?

Taxes- are 4.3% of the total package amount.

Fees- fees are covered by the client. These fees are as follows: Plane airfare, hotels or resorts, rental vehicles, special equipment shipping costs, gas/tolls & special client equipment requests/needs.

Do you have insurance coverage if our venue requests you have your own coverage?

We carry insurance coverage year around up to $1 million dollars in damages, accidental injury & theft. Unfortunately accidents & theft can accur at any time and we don't want our clients feeling the frustration of situations like this. Most reputable venues require this coverage.
